Home Furnishings
A self assigned project, challenging myself to build every piece of furniture in my new apartment, completely out of scrap.

A blank slate.
This project began with a desire, vision, and challenge. To improve my woodworking skills, have coordinating and complimenting furniture in my new apartment, and study human centered design through my own desires.

For the love of creating
Each piece of furniture created in this series needed to be completely disassemblable and easily carried. in August of 2023 I was involved in a car crash that resulted in a totaled car. After this event, I found joy in building, and spent a semester of recovery populating my new apartment with hand fabricated furniture. I focused on consistency in style, practical design, and customization for my space. I carried each of my designs two miles home from my fabrication space.

Behind the scenes!
01
This Sun Bed is made up of four movable floor seats, for when friends are over. I live in a studio apartment and love to host friends. I designed this piece to be modular with multiple uses so it can accomodate my solidarity in my space, as well as company.
During the wintertime, I noticed that only a small patch of my patio caught any sunshine. I designed and built this SunBed to lay out and catch the rays. Ever since, it has become a part of my daily routine.

Two shelves below the desktop, as well as a perfect spot for my craft storage.
Pencil Organizer
A fun addition made from some gifted scrap. Pencil organizer and ruler holder.

Entryway Shoe Cabinet
Made from old wooden floorboards. This shoe organizer and entryway table has adjustable heights for each shelf to accommodate boots. A lovely entryway piece that Is used everyday.

Jewelry Organizer
A favorite design of mine. One picture does it justice.
I needed a way to organize, and display my range of jewelry styles. Display is key, as Iām a person that wants to see their options. This piece sits on my bathroom countertop, and lights up my space and makes choosing accessories a fun and gratifying task.
