TACTILIA
A desktop lamp, meant to be touched and interacted with.
A Sculptural Piece
Inspired by the free flowing form of moving water, this piece invites the user to touch, and connect with the pleasure of natural movement.
A series of 36* 3D printed chains fastened to a laser and plasma cut frame.
*one of my favorite numbers (divisible by 1,2,3,4,6,9,12 and 18).
Creating a lamp using only fabrication methods that are new to me.
And testing their limits.

Plasma cut frame and detailing.
Using this spalted (rotten) Elm created lots of issues when trying to fabricate a base. Luckily, these fails brought me to a simpler and more beautiful design, with visible hardware.
